    Olive curing class

It’s been quite some time since I last posted to the blog.  I had some technical issues so this is more of a test than anything else.

My friend Tolly and I took an Olive Curing class in November that was loads of fun.  We picked LOTS of olives and learned how to cure them at home.  It was a REALLY cold day at Hidden Villa Farm but it was still so much fun!

We finally got around to getting a much needed new front door.  It’s bright yellow and BEAUTIFUL!  :)

Ehren turned 38 this past weekend and we took a fun day trip to the beach.  We couldn’t have asked for better weather (80 degrees and sunny!).  We went to our favorite beach called Sunset beach in Watsonville.  We had a picnic lunch, splashed in the ocean, built sand castles, crushed sand castles, and found lots of interesting sea creatures!

Then Becky, James, and Theo came over for dinner and brought Ehren’s favorite: Paxti’s pizza!  Such a treat!

    Trail Blazer Race 2011

We took Olivia to the Trail Blazer Race in Mountain View this morning as she is now totally hooked on running races (she did her first 5K a couple of weeks ago).  She did the kids 50 yard dash and the 1-mile race…total rock star!  Again, we ran into Olivia’s friend Sydney and the girls were able to run together in their races!

    Los Altos Pet Parade

Today was the Annual Los Altos Pet Parade!  We have never been before so it was exciting to see what all the hype was about!  We saw all sorts of family pets – hermit crabs, dogs, cats, chickens, birds, and even a goat dressed up like a unicorn (we referred to it as a Unigoat)!  While we didn’t bring our beloved pet, Spencer, Olivia brought a stuffed horse “pet” and marched in the parade with all of her buddies from pre school.  Her best buddy, Jack, was there which always brings smile to Olivia’s face.  We even caught an adorable shot of them hugging it out!  So cute!

    Pancake breakfast

    This morning

the Mountain View Fire Department hosted their annual Pancake Breakfast.  Ehren is a die-hard pancake breakfast guy so we try to go every year.  Olivia had a blast and we even met up with our old neighbors Rob, Liz, and their kids Sydney and Chase.  Olivia was crazy excited to see Sydney again and after they gobbled up their pancakes, they played on the antique fire truck and even spotted Sparky the Fire Dog!

    Gymnastics!

Olivia has been taking gymnastics for a few weeks now and is loving it!  Her favorite activities are the rope swing and the big foam pit.  She’s doing great following  little tumbling routines and smiles throughout each and every class!

    Olivia’s playhouse

The playhouse if finally complete and Olivia (and I!) couldn’t be happier!  It’s super modern, bright, AND totally matches our mid-century modern house (the playhouse was designed while we lived in our old home so it was totally random that it ended up matching the house we bought!)

    Well done Eno, well done!

Last weekend we headed to Sacramento to celebrate my brother’s birthday and to see their new house.  Super fun times!  My mom met us there as well so we had the whole clan together!  We hit the Sacramento Zoo, went out for a fun-filled dinner, danced around at the water park, and explored Tyler and Angie’s new neighborhood!  Olivia loves her cousin, Zachary, so much and they always have a blast together!

Olivia LOVES to go to Hidden Villa Farm and we recently visited to see the brand new piglets! Olivia just sat and gazed at them for what felt like forever and didn’t want to leave them.  She got to feel their super soft fuzzy fur, hear them squeal, and point out their tiny little curly tails!
